ETFE In order to achieve unusual shapes and geometries that make our projects iconic, we use the last generation and high-tech ETFE (Ethylene-TetraFluoroEthylene) material, a transparent thermoplastic polymer with high durability, which also has several characteristics that make ETFE the contractors' material of the future, replacing glass.ETFE was designed around the 70's when DuPont invented a fluoropolymer polymer to be used as an insulating material in the aircraft industry and thus meeting the needs of a highly corrosion resistant and highly strengthened material under conditions of very high thermal variations. Du Pont didn't try to introduce it to the construction industry at first, it was the mechanic engineer Stefan Lehnert who many years later while investigating about new technologies for use in sailing, visualized its potential as an architectural material due to its transparency, self cleaning and structural properties.
